When night descends on Saint Lucia, the island transforms into a hub of vibrant nightlife. Experience unmatched entertainment from legendary "jump-up" street parties to exhilarating full-moon beach events and thrilling club-hopping along bustling restaurant strips. Saint Lucia’s nightlife is famous throughout the Caribbean for its exotic rhythms and flavors. This island’s unique after-dark adventures are an experience you simply can't miss. Rodney Bay Village is the heart of nightlife on the north island. Here, you can dine and dance in style. A diverse array of excellent restaurants caters to every taste and budget. Enjoy authentic smoked barbecue, steakhouses, Mexican, Chinese, and Indian cuisine, along with various eclectic casual and local dining options. The late-night scene is a captivating blend of locals and visitors enjoying bustling bars and clubs. As you stroll down the strip, don't miss the regular karaoke and live music nights at venues offering lively soca and smooth reggae. At Rodney Bay, the party continues well into the night most days of the week. The Gros Islet Street Party, known as Saint Lucia’s quintessential "jump-up," has been a weekly tradition for over 50 years, rain or shine. It pauses only for Good Friday. Every Friday evening at sunset, Gros Islet residents prep their barbecues, chill the Piton beer, and set up street-side bars, all to welcome thousands of eager party-goers to the quaint fishing town's narrow lanes. Arts and crafts vendors display their creations, while the town center pumps with DJ beats, keeping the festivities lively until early Saturday morning. Be sure to arrive hungry! On Fridays, sizzling barbecues line Gros Islet's streets, serving everything from flavorful chicken and pork to the freshest catch brought in by local fishermen. Dive into local flavors and seek out the lambi or conch grills along the waterfront or try seasonal seafood delicacies like spiny lobster and bwigo (whelks). Anse La Raye Fish Fry - By day, Anse La Raye's beachside fisheries complex bustles with activity as local fishermen venture out in vibrant boats or pirogues, returning with a bounty of fresh catch. Come Friday evening, delights like snapper, tuna, dorado, barracuda, Spanish mackerel, lobster, and crab are prepared on coal pots and grills along the beachfront, surrounded by colorful tables and makeshift street cafes. The enticing aroma of freshly cooked seafood fills the air. Join the lively scene as DJs and local musicians animate the streets, offering a taste of Saint Lucia’s unique soundscape. Dennery Seafood Fiesta - Nestled midway along Saint Lucia's eastern coast, the picturesque village of Dennery features a bustling fisheries harbor set against towering cliffs with charming hillside views. On Saturday nights, the beach transforms into a lively "lime" (or "hangout"), with street vendors setting up near local rum shops and bars, under the rhythmic pulse of Dennery’s festivities. Here, the vibe is easygoing, friendly, and genuinely local, as the Fish Fiesta remains a beloved event among southern islanders. These events are just a glimpse of Saint Lucia’s vibrant nightlife. The island’s after-dark offerings are as varied as its cultural heritage, with dance clubs, lounges, street parties, pubs, and more to explore. AkzoNobel, a huge global company that is the largest manufacturer of powder coatings in the world, recently contacted Real St Lucia Tours with an exciting request- the desire to conquer Petit Piton. The smaller of the twin Piton Mountains, Petit Piton is no hike in the woods. Ascending almost straight up, conquering it is no easy feat. We were honored to be the tour company of choice for AkzoNobel, and we were happy to rise to the challenge of getting them to the top of Petit Piton. We know that they did massive research before choosing a tour company to guide them to the top of this difficult mountain, and we took great pride in being their guides of choice. Among the Real St Lucia Tours guides accompanying the AkzoNobel team up the mountain was our owner, Janus Gyan. A true outdoors man with a real love for his island and the Pitons, Janus is a mountain enthusiast. His presence on the trip meant that he would be able to show the AkzoNobel team the unique vegetation that grows along Petit Piton as well as the many unique and exciting rock formations seen along the climb. The weather for the climb was awesome, with not a rain cloud in sight. The hike commenced, and everything went off without a hitch. The weather stayed beautiful, and the team had a wonderful time. The ascent was great, although it started to get harder around the middle, leaving everyone struggling to make it to the top. Nobody does adventure like St Lucia, and climbing Petit Piton is DEFINITELY an adventure. Throughout the climb and especially after reaching the top of the mountain, the AkzoNobel team had the opportunity to take plenty of amazing photographs. Our team took lots of photos as well, as this was definitely a hike to remember. We took shots of the island views from many vantage points on Petit Piton, as well as photos of the team hiking the mountain and gathered together at its peak. By the time we were preparing to descend the mountain, everyone was quite exhausted from the climb up the mountain. Ascending Petit Piton is very unforgiving on the legs and can leave you feeling worn out, your legs feeling more like limp noodles. Yet the AkzoNobel team persevered and made it to the top with true adventurer's spirits. On the way down, with everyone feeling the exhaustion that only comes from climbing Petit Piton, we had plenty of breaks and stopped to drink lots of water. By the time we reached the bottom, everyone was feeling a mixture of immeasurable pride and exhaustion. The climb was over and everyone had had a wonderful time. The AkzoNobel team conquered Petit Piton with relatively little struggle, something only accomplishable by a team like this- one that goes around the world seeking the next big adventure. The team felt a great deal of pride in their accomplishment and couldn't wait to get back aboard the ship to share their story and feat with their workmates. The team here at Real St Lucia Tours felt a great deal of pride as well. It’s always fun for us to see our adventurers make it to the top of a mountain that so few people ever have the nerve to ascend. The views from the top are unbeatable, and hiking Petit Piton provides a sense of accomplishment that is hard to describe to someone who has never attempted the challenge. At the end of the day, we had a wonderful time with the guys from AkzoNobel and were exceptionally honored that they chose Real St Lucia Tours for their Petit Piton hiking experience. The conditions for the climb couldn't have been better, and the team couldn't have been friendlier or more adventurous. Everyone involved had a wonderful time, and we all made it to the top unscathed, if a bit exhausted. It was a great deal of challenge and fun for everyone involved, and although it was tough, it was really quite the fun adventure for everyone in the group. Here at Real St Lucia Tours, we offer everything from Piton hikes to cruise excursions, day trips, island tours, and more. More St. Lucia Piton Reviewsmade what would’ve probably been a daunting experience for a novice hiker, one which I’ll never forget." Cammy A visit to Soufriere, St. Lucia would be immensely incomplete without a hike up one of the wondrous Pitons. On my trip, I opted to tackle Petit Piton for a bit of a challenge. Janus and his team made what would’ve probably been a daunting experience for a novice hiker, one which I’ll never forget. The day begun with an early morning pickup from Sapphire Apartments where I was staying. Upon arrival at the base of the mountain, I was provided with a liter bottle of water for the climb, and freshly cut fruits. By the end of the tour, I felt like a world class hiking pro all thanks to my amazing and extremely diligent tour guide Ashley. The “walking tree” as I learned to be his nickname, must’ve had a copy of the trail implanted in his brain; because it was as if he was an extension of the mountain itself. Ashley was able to guide me up and down the mountain giving the most precise instructions on where to step, which branches and ropes to use to propel myself along the trail, and even held my hand for guidance where necessary...all while attentively assisting the other members on our tour. I highly recommend this tour...be sure to request the Walking Tree as your guide, you won’t regret it!! -Cam
Nothing beats true immersion than exploring the land on your own two feet – and we’ve got just the climbing trip for that. Our Active St. Lucia hikes and treks will take you from pleasant Tet Paul Nature Trail strolls to heart pumping testing challenges like summiting Petit Piton.
Petit Piton Climb was a fantastic experience. Both our driver and guide were excellent. The driver was ready and waiting for us at 7 as planned and was quite conscientious about ensuring we were comfortable. Along the way he provided some excellent insight about St. Lucia in general and the various communities we passed through. Similarly, our hike guide was good at accommodating the needs of our family. As you mentioned, it is a strenuous experience (a few stiff muscles today!) and was difficult for my daughter, but our guide was good about setting a moderate pace, providing climbing tips, and identifying appropriate rest areas. We were up and down in just over the estimated 5 hours. It was a very rewarding accomplishment and something I hope the family in particular can draw on when facing future challenges. I would not hesitate to recommend these individuals, this excursion and your service to anyone who asked or expressed an interest. Your responsiveness to my inquiry and provision of a realistic expectation for the hike (your descriptions were right on) were also much appreciated. This is our 7th visit to the island in as many years and I will certainly look to your company for future excursions when we return.
